U45 Blue Jay

This is such a fun little drone that I personally love to fly! It is currently the best-selling/highest-rated drone in its category on Amazon. It can auto take-off and auto-land with the push of a button. It features an HD camera that captures 2MP photos and 720p video. Finally, it impressively comes with some features that you would expect on higher-end drones like VR headset capabilities, Altitude Hold, Custom Route Mode, and First Person View. {Check Price}

Estes Syncro X Nano Quadcopter (The World’s Smallest Drone)

Worried about spending over $1,000 on a drone? Then look no further than this micro drone. This super small drone works best indoors and while it’s not the easiest drone to fly (sorry no built-in GPS) it is fun to see who can best control it. This is actually something I fly indoors with my little girls and we all have a blast with it. {Check Price}

Drone Fighter GX 100

This is a fun small toy drone that allows you to basically play a game of laser tag with a buddy. If your Drone Fighter is ‘hit’ by an Infrared shot, its LEDs flash and your controller vibrates in your hands. If you get hit six times, the game is over. {Check Price}

Manfrotto Drone Backpack

This is hands down the best backpack I’ve personally tried. I like it because you can carry a DJI Phantom drone, a remote controller, a DSLR camera, a laptop and an iPad. It can also carry up to 5 batteries! This is my main bag for carrying all my gear when traveling. {Check Price}

25-Piece Repair & Hobby Tool Set

This kit provides you with the basic tools for any quick repairs that you might need to do when you are out flying. No more searching around for that 2.5mm hex driver since this kit is so small and compact you can just keep it with your drone at all times. {Check Price}

Parrot Swing

This is a new and super unique “drone” that is already getting rave reviews. What makes this different from everything else on the market right now is that it can fly with its props pointing both forward and upwards. So you can switch flying modes mid-air from a regular looking 4 prop quadcopter to a Star Wars X-Wing Fighter. {Check Price}

Overview: A New Perspective of Earth

This book is inspired by the “Overview Effect” which is a sensation that astronauts experience when given the opportunity to look down and view the Earth as a whole. In this book there are over 200 breathtaking, high definition satellite photographs of industry, agriculture, architecture, and nature that highlight incredible patterns while also revealing a deeper story about human impact. All images are derived from one of my favorite Instagram accounts, @DailyOverview{Check Price}

Star Wars Remote Control Ultimate Millennium Falcon

Anything Star Wars related is going to be hot again this year. That is why it’s fitting to include the Millennium Falcon drone. This is a remote-controlled version of the spacecraft commanded by Han Solo and his first mate Chewbacca. It can enter hyper drive at up to 200 feet away and is recommended for kids over 8. This would make a great gift for the young drone pilot in your life. {Check Price}

PolarPro DJI Phantom 3 Filters (3-pack)

The PolarPro filters are great for drone pilots who want to to capture better quality aerial photos and videos. The pack features a Circular Polarizer Filter which helps you capture imagery with more saturated colors and improved contrast. The 2-Stop Neutral Density filter is great for when you are capturing imagery on cloudy days or during golden hour because it reduces highlights as well lens flares when shooting into the sun. The 3-Stop Neutral Density is best to use on really bright days because it allows you to use slower shutter speeds and can even reduce the rolling shutter seen when shooting directly into the sun. You can buy these for either the DJI drones or Yuneec drones. {Check Price}

The Drone Pilot’s Handbook: The knowledge, the skills, the rules

I recently finished this quick read and thought it was a great reference for those interested in drones. It provides readers with a basic overview of all the major drone topics and does so with fantastic illustrations. {Check Price}

The Complete Guide to Drone

This is a super handy drone book that goes in even more detail than the one above. It features everything you need to know about drone terminology, drone parts, how to build a drone and how to fly a drone. This is another highly-rated toy drone that can take photos and video. I love flying it because you can easily do 360 flips with it which no other drone I have can do that. Also, it can impressively take quite a beating if you crash it. {Check Price}

Hubsan-X4-FPV-review-with-controllerHubsan X4 FPV

This is another fun drone to fly. It’s just like the cheaper X4 above, but what makes this one unique is that you can actually see a live view of your flight while flying. {Check Price}

Syma X8GSyma X8G

Because of its size this is a little more serious than the smaller drones above. This drone features a descent 8 megapixel GoPro-like camera. Probably the best part about this drone is if you already own a GoPro camera you can swap out the default camera it comes with and capture 12 megapixel photos and 4K video instead using your a GoPro. {Check Price}

Hubsan_H501S_FPVHubsan H501S 1080P HD

While not technically a drone this is a super fun little indoor flying toy that my 3 and 6 year old daughters and I love to fly. This heli is really easy to fly, charges via USB and flight time is about 7-8 minutes. {Check Price}

Hot tip: Try taping a little coin underneath the nose. This will result in the heli tilting forward which will allow you to have better control and fly in a forward motion faster.

The Rotor Drone and Drone 360 drone magazines are both excellent and are something I look forward to getting in the mail. They feature top drone news, interviews with pros, inspiration and drone tips. {Rotor DroneDrone 360}

Yuneec Typhoon H

If you are looking for a serious drone with a little more redundancy than DJIs offerings, then look no further than the Yuneec Typhoon H. This drone features 6 rotors, instead of the typical 4 rotors found on most popular drones. Which means if one rotor fails while flying you can still safely bring it back with the remaining 5 rotors. It also features a 360˚4K camera, a 7-inch HD multi-touch screen display/remote control and retractable landing gear which helps keep the landing gear from entering the frame. {Check Price}

DJI Phantom 4

The Phantom 4 is by far my favorite drone I own (out of the 9 drones that I own). It cannot be beat in terms of ease of use, image quality and value. Most agree that this is the best consumer drone you can buy right now. Features like obstacle avoidance technology, automated take-off and landing, built-in GPS, and HD or 4K video capabilities make it hard to beat at this price point. If however you are on a strict budget then take a look at the cheaper Phantom 3 Standard or if you are looking for a higher quality 1080p HD camera then check out the Phantom 3 Advanced. Finally, if you can push it and have a little more wiggle room in your budget, the brand new Phantom 4 Pro provides an amazing value with its upgraded camera and longer battery life! As a side note most of the images I personally share online are shot with the Phantom 4 drone. {Check Price}
